The Salinas Seven

Welcome to my website reserved for the self-important act of blogging!

My bullet-pointed stats include a husband, five kids (including twins — that gets an asterick), two dogs, one goat, and some chickens. I live at the base of some mountains in rural Alaska. I run a lot, work a lot, swear a lot, and write a lot. About a lot of stuff.

And these are my kids
Kody, a teenage boy. Likes saxophone, basketball, and girls.
Kyleigh, a pre-teen girl. Adamant distaste for Hannah Montana. Fashion critic who keeps me on point. Or en pointe, depending how you look at it.
Joshua, a kid. He’s not a pre-teen. He likes guns, making gun noises, zombies, and swearing under his breath?
Chloe, Baby A. She’s an older toddler, and the oldest in our set of twin girls (by an hour). She’s precocious and likes to paint. She sings in her sleep.
Hannah, Baby B. She’s the younger twin in the set. Her hair is curly and she’s as wild as a bear. She paints, too. On the floor.

Oh yeah, I also have a husband.
Named Maurice. I call him Mo, and Honey, and Yo!. He is tall, dark, and handsome. He is an Alaska State Trooper. (No, we don’t watch that show.) He does everything I do, and most of the time with more patience. We are yin and yang, we are apples and bananas. (I am definitely bananas.) He grabs my ass in public.
